Product Introduction

Description

This Brass Investment Casting is a casting alloy based on Cu Zn binary alloy, with small crystallization temperature interval and good casting performance. The solid solubility of zinc in brass is very large. About 37% of zinc can be dissolved in copper under normal temperature equilibrium state, while about 30% of zinc can be dissolved in actual production as cast state. Therefore, zinc has a good solid solution strengthening effect in copper. Although ordinary brass has certain strength, hardness and good casting process performance, its wear resistance and corrosion resistance, especially for flowing seawater, steam and inorganic acid, are poor. Therefore, a small amount of other alloy elements (mainly Mn, Al, Fe, Si, Pb, etc.) are usually added to cast brass to improve its mechanical, physical and chemical properties.

Features
Brass has good fluidity and is not easy to loosen. Brass has a low melting point and contains a large amount of zinc, which is easy to evaporate. When it evaporates, it can prevent the alloy from absorbing air and take away the gas in the copper liquid. Therefore, brass castings generally do not produce air holes. Brass has the characteristics of shell solidification and is less sensitive to the cooling rate of casting, so its mechanical properties are less sensitive to the change of casting wall thickness. Compared with tin bronze, this Brass Investment Casting has higher mechanical properties. In addition, brass contains a large amount of zinc, so the cost is low. These are the reasons why cast brass is widely used.

Advanced Technical Process

The Brass Investment Casting method ensures:

Tight tolerances (±0.1mm per 25mm)

Smooth surface finish (Ra 1.6–3.2 μm as-cast)

Thin-wall capabilities (as low as 0.5mm)

Minimal porosity (<0.3%)

Proven Application Success

Our castings are trusted in:

Plumbing: Valve bodies, fittings (ASTM B584 compliant)

Electrical: Connectors, terminals (high conductivity)

Marine: Pump components, marine hardware (saltwater resistant)

Automotive: Fuel system parts, decorative trim
